Word of Mouth Campaigns

What is word of mouth? It is when your people persuade each other to use your health programs. And, it is a very powerful engagement technique.

How we help you use it. Because you can get lost in the competing word of mouth theories, we’ve broken it down into these 3 clear steps:

Step 1: During the Assessment, identify the following:

  • Opinion leaders – your people whose opinions matter the most to others inside your communities
  • Prosumers – your people who will readily embrace your new or improved health programs
  • Groups – your people who share common healthy interests such as running, biking, and organic gardening
  • Norms & customs – every community has developed a set of norms and customs that can either help or hinder engagement

Step 2: Involve your people in setting the engagement strategy. Involving your opinion leaders and prosumers in setting your engagement strategy decreases the natural reticence that your people will feel toward a top-down, mandated program. And, their involvement is the foundation for an effective word-of-mouth campaign.

Step 3: Pre-launch videos and events. We can customize videos and events to your environment, communities, groups, and norms/customs. Customized videos can include a funny kick-off video for an update to an existing program or one for a new program. Customized events can range from a charitable walk-a-thon to high-quality, entertaining and live presentation by our experts. When used properly, customized videos and events can efficiently generate a large amount of pre-launch word of mouth among your people. And, it can also help invigorate your existing events, communications, and engagement techniques.
